Joanne Rowling
Welcome to my blog again!
Today I am going to tell you some information about a really popular and one of my most favorite writer Joanne Rowling.
At first I will tell you who exactly she is ( if you already don't know)
Joanne Rowling is a British novelist and screenwriter. She was born on 31st July 1965 in Bristol, and grew up in Gloucestershire in England. Her father, Peter was an aircraft engineer at the Rolls Royce factory in Bristol and her mother Anne was a science technician in the Chemistry. The young Jo (she calls herself Jo) grew up surrounded by books. Like she said - she lived for books.
Her writer's journey
Jo wanted to be a
writer from an early age. She wrote her first book at the age of six and when she was just eleven she wrote her first novel.
As everyone knows, Jo is the author of the famous story about Harry Potter.
As everyone knows, Jo is the author of the famous story about Harry Potter.
Jo's first idea about Harry
Potter was in 1990 while she was sitting in the train from Manchester to London King’s Cross ( King's Cross is also used in the story). At this time she moved to northern Portugal to teach English there. She married and had a daughter, Jessica, in 1993. After a year the marriage ended and she returned back to the UK. This time she had the
first three chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
The book was first published in June 1997 under the name J.K. Rowling.
J.K. Rowling has also written two books connected with the Harry Potter novel... Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ( the animals are wonderful ) and Quidditch Through The Ages were published in March 2001.
In December 2008 she has published The Tales of Beedle the Bard in aid of her international children’s charity - Lumos.
What about the middle K.?
Do you know why is there the middle K? It is there because there was a risk that
audience of young boys might not want to read a book written by a woman. So her
publishers asked her if she can use two initials rather than her full name ( they thought it wouldn't look like woman's name). So she has used the “K” from her grandmother’s name
( Kathleen ) as the second initial ( J. K. Rowling ).

She also writes crime novels under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. The first of these novels - The Cuckoo’s Calling was
published in 2013. There is kinda interesting that at first nobody has known
authors true idenity. And even if I read the book I also didn't know that Robert Galbraith is her pseudonym.
In 2016, J.K. Rowling collaborated with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany on a new story - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child . The script book was published in July 2016.
Ps: If you want to know something about an actress who created a main character in Harry Potter movies- Emma Watson - visit: https://thewarmestcolors.wordpress.com/2017/09/15/emmawatson/#more-111
My recommendation on her books:
I read the first
four parts from the Harry Potter series and I have to recommend you all of them. The
books are more better than movies and there are also a lot of information you
can not know from the film ( for me there is kinda important information) .
I also read The
Tales of Beedle the Bard and I have to say that I love every single tale. They
are all so funny and we can find there guydance for a life.
My
another favorite book from J.K Rowling ( here Robert Galbraith) is The Cuckoo’s
Calling. I tis so exciting and the story is really tense.
I hope you enjoyed reading.
Have a nice day,
Veronika :)
